5 step CLSP model

1. Identify the risk

2. Problem solve (pick a preventative action)
   • Eliminate a physical risk
     (e.g. replace a hand-thrown switch with a solar powered one)
   • Work practice modification
     (e.g. petition to change "best practice")
   • Work practice leveling
     • Safety briefings
     • Marathons
     • Open, informal discussions
3. Implement preventative action
4. Measure for results
5. Employee feedback
   (Is the risk eliminated or reduced to its lowest possible level?)
   If no, repeat steps 2-5
   If yes, identify a new risk and apply the process
