We’re getting an increasing number of calls from furloughed employees who are hearing that, pursuant to Article XII of the 1985 National Agreement, they will lose their seniority if they are furloughed for one year. As information, in 1999, all UTU General Committees signed a Memorandum of Agreement eliminating Article XII in its entirety on BNSF. Furloughed employees will not be automatically terminated after one year.
