The annual Health and Welfare open enrollment started September 25, 2000, and runs through October 13, 2000. During this time, employees working under UTU agreements have the opportunity to choose between the two health care plans available to them, United Health Care or Regence Life and Health (Blue Cross Blue Shield.) Unfortunately, not all employees are eligible to choose an alternate health care provider. Eligibility is determined by craft as of August 1, 2000. Even if you are not eligible to choose providers, this open enrollment period can still be utilized to opt into or out of Managed Care. By now you should have received a packet in the mail explaining your options. If you wish to change the coverage you have now, you must return the form by October 13, 2000. If you wish to remain in the plan you currently have, no action is necessary.
