Many of you have inquired as to when the Carrier will begin paying the outstanding claims validated by Award No. 46 of Public Law Board No. 6003. On receipt of the Award I forwarded those claims lists to the Labor Relations Department with a request for payment. I have now been informed that those claims lists were sent to Timekeeping for processing on October 6, 1999. As you know, there were literally thousands of claims involved, and several other General Committees on BNSF had claims of their own held in abeyance pending the decision in our lead case. Timekeeping has confirmed receipt of those claims, and the Claimants should begin seeing those payments show up on their payroll in the last half of October. I will update you when I have further information from Timekeeping on this project.
